For the first time, New Zealand’s only glass manufacturer has achieved an average of 70% recycled glass content in its locally made packaging in 2024.
“New Zealand is the first country Visy operates in to achieve this and marks another milestone in Visy’s nearly 30-year history in the country,” says Aaron Ashby, general manager of Visy New Zealand.
Ashby says that it’s not just glass packaging that Visy supplies to the country’s food and beverage businesses, but also locally manufactures cardboard boxes, beverage cans and plastic packaging – all packed with recycled content.
