Interlogic expands warehouse technology reach into Australia

New Zealand warehouse management software and materials handling specialist Interlogic has opened its first Australian office, expanding its trans-Tasman presence and bringing its MultiPick WMS closer to Australian food manufacturers, distributors and third-party logistics providers.

Founded in Auckland in 2002, Interlogic develops logistics execution systems combining its MultiPick warehouse management system (WMS) with materials handling equipment, rugged technologies, automation and robotics.

The company says its Australian expansion is aimed at businesses seeking greater warehouse accuracy, visibility and throughput without the cost and complexity associated with larger enterprise systems.

For food and beverage operations, including dairy, FMCG and cold storage businesses, the technology can support inventory control, picking accuracy, traceability and the movement of products through increasingly automated warehouse environments.

Interlogic founder Les Wootton says establishing an Australian base will allow the company to provide the same direct support model it has developed in New Zealand.

“We’ve spent more than 20 years proving what a well-built WMS can do for New Zealand warehouses — measurable accuracy, faster picking, and real savings. Australian operators have been asking for the same thing: serious capability without the enterprise complexities, and a team that actually stays with them. Opening in Australia means we can deliver that here, in person.”

Interlogic positions MultiPick as a Tier 2 WMS, targeting the market between large Tier 1 enterprise platforms and entry-level warehouse systems.

The system can be integrated with materials handling automation from multiple suppliers, allowing businesses to develop their warehouse software and automation requirements as operations grow.

Matt Vaughn, country lead for Interlogic Australia, says combining warehouse software with materials handling expertise is an important part of the company’s approach.

“There’s an opportunity in the Australian market for a Tier 2 WMS that isn’t just software — one that understands automation, materials handling and the realities of a working warehouse, and backs it with local people. That combination is exactly what Interlogic brings, and it’s why we’re investing in an Australian presence.”

Interlogic’s existing customer base includes Cardinal Logistics, European Motor Distributors and Griffins Foods, with its systems operating across sectors including FMCG, dairy, automotive, cold storage, e-commerce and 3PL.

The company reports results from New Zealand deployments including improvements of more than 90% in inventory accuracy, picking times reduced by half and order accuracy exceeding 99%.

The Australian office will provide local support from initial consultation and system design through implementation and ongoing operation, while expanding Interlogic’s ability to support customers operating on both sides of the Tasman.
