Tetra Pak says food and beverage manufacturers are facing increasing pressure to shorten development cycles, improve operational efficiency and scale production more quickly as market conditions become more complex across the sector.
The company will present a range of integrated processing, packaging and digital manufacturing technologies during foodpro 2026 in Melbourne from July 26–29, with a focus on how manufacturers can move products from concept to commercial production more rapidly.
According to Tetra Pak, rising production costs, sustainability expectations, labour pressures and faster innovation cycles are reshaping how manufacturers approach product development and factory operations.
Wes Bailey, sales director for Tetra Pak Oceania, says the industry is increasingly looking for systems capable of connecting product development, processing, packaging and services into more streamlined manufacturing operations.
“At Tetra Pak, innovation starts as an idea and is transformed into a market-ready reality,” Bailey says.
“From processing and packaging to digitalisation and services, our focus is on helping manufacturers improve efficiency, strengthen resilience and build more sustainable operations.”
The company says growing demand in categories including food supplements, nutrition products and ready-to-drink beverages is increasing pressure on manufacturers to respond more rapidly to changing consumer trends while maintaining production flexibility.
According to Tetra Pak, sectors such as ready-to-drink coffee, functional beverages and specialised nutrition products are continuing to expand as consumers place greater emphasis on convenience, health, functionality and premium positioning.
In response, manufacturers are increasingly seeking production systems capable of handling more complex formulations, shorter production runs and faster commercialisation timeframes.
Tetra Pak says integrated processing and packaging systems, supported by digital production technologies including AI-enabled factory management tools, are becoming more important as manufacturers attempt to reduce operational complexity while improving production visibility and efficiency.
The company says collaboration and co-creation across processing, packaging and production development will continue playing a larger role as manufacturers seek to accelerate innovation while balancing sustainability and operational performance requirements.
