A Bordeaux-based company has developed a mobile app that allows consumers to scan Bordeaux wine labels to learn more about the producer, the vineyard and what others thought of the product.
Kasual Business, which specialises in mobile apps for the wine sector, has won the latest three year tender by the Bordeaux Wines Council (CIVB) for its mobile lead application: Smart Bordeaux.
The new version of Smart Bordeaux went into production at the beginning of September 2012.
Smart Bordeaux features:
- 16,000 wine records available and uploaded directly by Bordeaux wine producers
- available in 13 languages and used in 82 countries by more than 200,000 users on iPhone and Androïd
- 10,000 bottles of Bordeaux wine labels are identified each week all over the world

In this manner Kasual Business has convinced the CIVB of the benefits of implementing its new version Smart Bordeaux and experienced commercial success as a result.
Building on this success and looking to strengthen its technological and commercial development, Kasual Business' founders have decided to present their skills and knowledge to Californian investors next October on a trip organised by the Bordeaux International Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Californian Irish Innovation Center.
