International food and beverage machine and turnkey manufacturer Sacmi has entered the dairy sector forming a specialised group which brings together expertise from throughout the group.

A new specialised division of Sacmi has come to life, determined to conquer the dairy industry with integrated turnkey solutions that range from forming to filling to labelling.

It will be showing off its latest innovations from the compression blow forming (CBF) to the Form-fill-seal (FFS) of Benco Pack with the integrated sleeve applicator (ISA) patented system at Anuga FoodTec in Cologne on March 27-30.

For Sacmi, this is the achievement of another goal following a change in the group’s industrial policy in recent years combining the best of the three Sacmi technologies for plastic processing, compression, injection and thermoforming.

This joins together with the group’s extensive experience accumulated over the years as a supplier of integrated solutions for the beverage sector.Sacmi 2

The Sacmi Beverage division has raised the bar significantly in terms of objectives, aiming at synergies between new SBF blowing machines and solutions developed by Sacmi Verona for labelling, as well as solutions developed by Sacmi Filling regarding filling technologies.

With this in mind, Sacmi Dairy comes into being as a vertical and horizontal integration inside the group. The start up point is Benco Pack, a Sacmi Group company that has dominated the dairy sector for a long time with its FFS and sterile filling technologies.

Sacmi Dairy is the result of the union between the state-of-the-art CBF and Roll Fed Sleeve Technologies of Sacmi Verona – shrink-wrap label application directly from the film on the reel.

This approach to the market makes Sacmi a complete technological partner, a company which it claims will bring “never before seen innovations to the most important trade show of the sector.”

Sacmi’s CBF bott l ing machine, which includes a unique and advanced technology, will be on display at Anuga, demonstrating an application for producing containers and classic packaging for yogurt, desserts and similar products.

The renovated Benco Pack FFS packline with its patented application developed by Sacmi Verona will also be on show for labelling applications.

The result is thermoformed containers of 250 grams to 500 grams that are sealed and labelled to perfection, directly from the film in the reel. This process is completely automated in a very compact space that can be managed by only one operator.Sacmi 3

The most significant strong point of this solution is its ISA Modular which is easier to clean and faster due to its enhanced motor trolley.

Through the use of a cam for sleeves not inserted with the collection box, the applicator is extremely precise and provides high performance with production speeds that can reach 30,000 sleeves per hour.

The innovative tab reading sensor and elements that minimise line downtime through the vapour system make restarts faster.

The suction and air blowing system also minimise defects, as they eliminate excessive vapour in the pre-fixing and shrink-wrapping zone.

The same CBF with which Sacmi has replaced traditional technologies was further improved in the last few months.

Sacmi has chosen Anuga FoodTec to launch a series of innovations specifically designed for the dairy sector, and the expansion of the machine range with additional research for managing other types of resins in the same technological platform.

Its capability of developing not only containers, but also bottles, makes Sacmi a valuable partner in a sector where the ability to unite high performance and flexible technologies, together with the possibility of offering the customer state-of-the-art solutions from a design standpoint, makes all the difference.
