New aseptic dual filling system

GEA Procomac displayed its new aseptic dual filling system for the filling of PET bottles with products containing particulates at Anuga FoodTec 2012 in late March.

As part of GEA Process Engineering, GEA Procomac designs and manufactures complete aseptic filling lines for sensitive products (such as juices, isotonic drinks, tea, milk-based beverages with and without particulates) in PET bottles, and it is a leading company in the sensitive beverage filling field with over 130 aseptic lines installed worldwide.

The new system is composed of two separate filling carousels – the new aseptic piston doser PX for solid particles with set volume from 30 to 150ml and the volumetric electronic filler Fillstar FX, an industry standard for aseptic beverages filling.

Filling of the bottles takes place in two operations – first the dosing of the solid particles and then the addition of the liquid phase.

The dual fill system requires a two stream process line – one dedicated to the thermal treatment of solids and the other to the thermal treatment of the clear liquid.

The new system is designed for the bottling of still beverages, both high acid and low acid, containing pulps, fibres, and pieces of fruit or cereals with dimensions up to 10 by 10 by 10mm, or products where density does not allow the consistent distribution of the solids.
