Consumer demand has led Whittaker’s to bring back its most popular flavour – Hundreds & Thousands.

For a limited-time only, lovers of Whittaker’s Hundreds & Thousands block will be able to get their hands on the flavour once again, after the company collaborated with Griffin’s in 2014 to replicate the Griffin’s Cookie Bear biscuit.

When the first of chocolate blocks landed on shelves in 2014, they sold out in record time and Whittaker’s says there has been unprecedented demand for the flavour ever since.

“We often get requests to bring back limited-edition flavours, but Hundreds & Thousands is by far the most requested product of all time, even sparking an online petition last year calling for the flavour’s return,” says Whittaker’s co-chief operating officer, Holly Whittaker.

“We’re delighted to be able to bring it back once more for a limited time in response to the ongoing requests from our chocolate lovers over the past seven years.”

Whittaker’s Hundreds & Thousands block will be made to the same recipe as in 2014, with the chocolate company’s finest 28% cocoa white chocolate. The chocolate is combined with natural flavour and colour and then mixed with crunchy biscuit pieces and sprinkles to recreate the look and taste of the iconic biscuit.

“Given the popularity of this flavour last time round, we’ve produced more this time but it is still a limited-edition product, so those who are already fans of the flavour, and those that didn’t try is the first time, should get in quick to ensure they don’t miss out,” says Whittaker.

The Whittaker’s Hundreds & Thousands chocolate blocks will be available from supermarkets (in store and online) and other retail outlets nationwide from February 22 for as long as stocks last.
