Protecting product quality at every level with AWS GROUP
In modern food manufacturing, safeguarding product quality means controlling more than just visible hygiene. Microbiological cross contamination can arise not only from surfaces, but also from the air and difficult-to-access areas throughout a production environment. Left unchecked, these risks can affect shelf life, product quality and operational performance.
Traditionally, manufacturers have relied on daily cleaning and disinfection programmes focused on food contact surfaces, floors and machinery. While effective for routine hygiene control, these processes may not always address microorganisms present in overhead structures, ventilation systems and enclosed production spaces.
AWS Group says this is driving increasing interest in whole-environment sanitation approaches capable of supporting broader hygiene management strategies without major production disruption.
Richard Hanna, group general manager of AWS Group, says manufacturers are increasingly looking beyond conventional surface cleaning alone.
“At the heart of this approach is fogging with ANK Neutral Anolyte, generated on site using AWS Group’s patented Envirolyte units,” Hanna says.
Unlike conventional fogging systems using harsher chemical-based sanitation methods, Hanna says ANK Neutral Anolyte can be fogged with minimal downtime, while supporting high microbial log reduction and odour control programmes.
He adds that the fine mist penetrates difficult-to-reach areas throughout processing environments, supporting whole-room hygiene management and environmental control objectives while helping manufacturers avoid lengthy production stand-down periods.
To support sanitation verification, AWS Group also supplies Bioglo hygiene visualisation torches using UV inspection technology to help identify organic residue not visible under standard lighting conditions.
The technology assists hygiene teams in identifying missed contamination points, validating cleaning procedures and supporting continuous improvement in sanitation practices.
“Together, the technologies form part of a proactive hygiene strategy focused on reducing environmental microbial load, improving shelf life outcomes and reducing product waste.”
AWS Group provides the technologies across sectors including food and beverage manufacturing, dairy processing, cheese production, hatcheries, agriculture and horticulture.
Hanna says manufacturers are increasingly focused on hygiene systems that support both operational performance and worker safety.
“AWS Group’s organic, safe air sanitation and hygiene assurance technologies are redefining what clean really means, helping manufacturers protect their products, their people and their processes, every day,” Hanna says.
