KEY APPOINTMENTS IN KIWI FOOD AND BEVERAGE

 

NICK SMITH

Nick Smith joined the Riddet Institute Sustainable Nutrition Initiative team on July 13 and will provide ongoing development of a model to test scenarios on how to sustainably feed a growing global population.

 

COLLIER ISAACS

Collier Isaacs joins The New Zealand Food Safety Science & Research Centre as Chair of the Board, for a two-year term, effective July 1. Collier brings both governance and executive level experience to the role, along with broad experience of the NZ primary sector, marketing, science, technology transfer, quality assurance and regulatory and business development.

 

 

SHONA CANNON

Wedderburn NZ Ltd has appointed Shona in the new role of Sales Manager South Island. With over 13 years industry experience Shona will lead the team in delivering turnkey weighing, packaging and labelling solutions to food manufacturers throughout New Zealand.

 

 

VARUN GADODIA

Varun has recently joined Kiwi Produce Ltd in the Bay of Plenty as a Product Development Technologist. His main responsibilities include process improvements and new product development for value-addition to kiwifruit and support expansion of product portfolio.

 

 

CARMEN HE

Award-winning industrial designer Carmen He has been appointed to the Pacific team of global energy and automation digital solutions provider Schneider Electric. Ms He is based at the design lab in Adelaide but originally hails from Rotorua.

 

 

BRENT CLOTHIER

Dr Brent Clothier, Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, has been appointed President-Elect of the Royal Society Te Apārangi. Dr Clothier will take over from Professor Wendy Larner FRSNZ on July 1, 2021 for a three-year term. He joins the Society’s Council as President-Elect immediately.

 

 

EMILY FULLER

The New Zealand Beverage Council has appointed Emily as its new general manager of public affairs. She started her new role on July 13.

 

 

SIQI LI

Siqi is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Riddet Institute, and has been working on the MBIE funded New Zealand Milks Mean More project since May 20.

 

 

 

JEN CHERRINGTON

Jen started her role as chief digital officer for Callaghan Innovation in May. She leads the digital function and team and has 20+ years in global digital/technology roles.

 

 

PETER LENNOX

Current chief executive at MetService Peter Lennox has been appointed as the next chief executive of New Zealand Crown Research Institute ESR. He will take up this role in September 2020.

 

 

 

GEORGE ADAMS

George will replace Mike Simm as chair of the Competenz Trust Board. George has 30 years of experience leading companies in New Zealand, Africa and Europe.

 

 

NIKKI RENALL

Nikki is a registered dietitian and started her current role as a nutrition researcher at AuOra for Wakatū Incorporation in May, 2020.
