The big wine company has earned a reputation as one of New Zealand’s leading winemakers, achieving global success with its Oyster Bay brand.
The company believes its success stems largely from “world class” viticulture delivering premium quality wine from large-scale vineyards. The company has 2000 hectares of vineyards in Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay and is investing in substantial vineyard developments to support future growth.
Delegat’s is advertising for a national vineyards manager to lead its viticulture team and “maximise the sustainable yield, fruit quality and integrity of the company vineyards” through what it calls a scientific approach to world-class cool climate viticulture.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the business performance of the division and the development of the viticulture team. Among a list of required competencies are strong collaborative leadership skills, experience in managing medium to large-scale viticulture, horticulture or agribusiness operations, a structured and scientific approach and financial literacy and experience in preparing operating and capital budgets.
