RGL recognised with awards
In 1991 New Zealand’s leading supplier of coding, marking and labelling solutions to New Zealand industry began as a one man operation servicing the New Zealand dairy industry. Today Reynolds Group Ltd (RGL) is the largest and most innovative coding and labelling solutions supplier in the country.
RGL operates in every industry category, supplying innovative solutions to the smallest of businesses through to a who’s-who of major industrials. The company’s growing pool of intellectual property and world-leading solutions has lead to growing export business, with RGL solutions now being used in many countries around the world.
Armed with the core values of quality, reliability and innovation, and a total commitment to integrity in business, RGL has always maintained a focus on delivering optimum tailored solutions to its customers through a mixture of world-leading technology agencies, product development, engineering capability, and exceptional service.
In recent times RGL underscored its commitment to the New Zealand dairy industry by condensing its seventeen years of accumulated industry knowledge and capability into a brand new coding solution, the .Comm3, a solution so successful that RGL received not one, but two awards in the 2008 Fonterra Packaging Awards. The awards recognised the quantum leap RGL has delivered to the industry in terms of reliability, productivity, efficiency and environmental impact, as well as delivering outstanding service.
RGL operations manager, Rob Bowe, says that during the .Comm3 development RGL looked past the obvious project requirements and began questioning the way in which the company interacted with its customers and delivered solutions to market.
“We were surprised to find that many processes didn’t stack up as being in all parties’ long-term interest, even though the customer was happy with the status quo and most people accepted them as industry best practice. Improving these processes, or re-engineering them completely, and aligning our business focus with the long-term interests of our customers provided massive improvements in productivity and efficiency with dramatically reduced environmental impact, and significantly reduced costs,” Rob says.
James Booth, managing director for RGL, says: “Service aspects are a major part of any solution delivery. We have released some innovative new service and reliability solutions that are proving to be a real break-out in the market place, providing high reliability with complete flexibility and significantly reduced operation costs. The distinction between supplying a product versus a service is blurring, and it is now all about the experience and value the customer receives over the solution life-cycle. The company has moved towards vending solutions, which integrate all product and service aspects. The results are speaking for themselves.”
RGL will be displaying the .Comm3 and other advanced coding and labelling solutions at the upcoming Foodtech Packtech Exhibition 21 – 23 October 2008 at ASB Showgrounds, Greenlane, Auckland, and will also be giving presentations on its Service Reliability Programme.
